Annual Morongo Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway...Continues
The 2012 Annual Turkey and Basket Give a Way was a blessed and exciting time for everyone involved. The 11 volunteers were very enthusiastic and worked tirelessly when preparing the turkey bags which included: stuffing, celery, potatoes, corn, green beans cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and onions. It was a very grateful and enjoyable time for all the recipients as well. The total number of volunteers that participated in the two day event were 24: John J., James H. Dorothy H. , Carol Y. Melvin, B, Iva B. Jacqui A., Steve A. , 11 year old Caleb A., Jamie C., William C. Linda S., Barbara J., Viola W., Michael S. Shelley S., Cleothis M. Virgil C., Pia C., Christine P., Tom G., Vivian S., Harold R. and Turner S .The day after packing 175 bags of Thanksgiving fixings, a team of us went to the Morongo Reservation to help process the 10,000 turkeys to be distributed to donor recipients, which CIONO was one of them. CIONO received 75 Turkeys from Morongo Band of Mission Indians and 100 turkeys from the SSA Black Affairs Advisory Council of the Inland Empire . During the November 14th turkey distribution we serviced 125 families and over eight churches in the Inland Empire area. To God Be The Glory! What a Joy to serve our community! Just like 2009, 2010, 2011...you get the point
